I love driving down Colima during the night and seeing all the city lights from the top of the hill. It's so beautiful.
Sunday's sunset was beautiful.
During the summer of 2006 when my family went to Mt. Rainier, my dad and I hiked this cool trail that started in the cool mist of the forest. The dirt was damp from the moisture, and the air was cool on my cheeks and the it smelled so fresh and clean. I love its stillness, tranquility, and peace.
One of my favorite memories with my dad was going to Disneyland in the rain. It was me and my two brothers with my dad. We went more than once, so this is a compilation of our trips.
We decided to go after it began raining, figuring that the rain would keep the lines short. Once we got there, it started pouring. Not more than five minutes later we were soaked. We didn't even want to stay. We ended up going straight back home.
I also remember going and Dad would pack hot chocolate and chicken noodle soup in thermoses for us to have after we were soaked.
Sometimes he even bought us churros, a rarity for us. I remember trying to stay dry by huddling under the shelter of the churro cart, not like it helped much because I was already soaked to the bone.
Everytime we went when it was raining, we always commented on how smart the people with the ponchos were. We never got ponchos.
When it was raining and there was thunder and lightening I went on the Snow White ride. Right before the witch turns around from behind the cottage door [which is the scary part!] the power shut off to the ride. I got to walk through the rest of it [without being scared out of my mind on that eerie rainy day][Yesss!!!].
My dad made sure he created some really strong memories with me and my brothers. I love my dad and I hope to marry a man who has many similar qualities.

He still remembers me!
The highlight of my day was visiting with Melodie and Reece. At first I was nervous because I hadn't spent any time with Reece since I stopped watching him and I wasn't sure if he would remember me. At first I wasn't sure what to do when I went inside. I was supposed to get a play pen from Melodie that my mom had lent her, so I wasn't sure whether I should just get the play pen and head out or stay a little longer...yeah, I just went with the flow.
Well, I walked past the kitchen and Reece was playing on the floor. When I started walking past him he turned sat up and started smiling at me. Then he began to crawl a bit closer. He was being so cute! Eventually when I dropped eye-contact he started playing with his toy and I went to talk to Melodie.
Melodie was on the phone with business and I didn't want to interrupt so I went back to see the baby. I went and sat on the floor next to him, and he once again welcomed me with a smile. While he was playing, Velma and I were talking about her family. Soon Reece tried to get our attention by making ahhhhing noises, but when he realized that no one was paying attention to him, he began to crawl towards me. He put his hand on my knee and began to pull himself up. Soon I had Reece in my lap sitting very comfortably and happily enjoying a back rub. He didn't stay too long though, because Grandpa came in and Reece took off to see Papa.
Later Melodie and I had a chance to chat, and I mentioned Reece's warm greeting. She told me when Reece typically sees a new person, he observes them from a distance. So for him to come directly up to me when I was on the floor with him, probably means he has some recognition of me. Melodie says maybe it's the sound of my voice. When I was talking to my mom, she also says babies have a great sense of smell. Whichever it was or both, I was so glad to see Reece and I like to believe that he DOES remember me!

New Blogger
So, I've been interested in blogging since August, but never really started until now. I know this first message is brief and lame, but I'm tired and want to sleep. I'll make an actual post soon. Later tater.
