Faithful friends who are dear to us...

This was the night that us four girls decided to get gussied up and take Christmas pictures.  The living room was decorated, our tree was up and lit, and there were even a few presents under the tree.

Let the festivities begin!

What do you think?

I was even able to make it into one on my own camera!

Tree Trimmings

Once the tree was up, we decided to get crackling on our garland!  At home Melody and her family string popcorn and cranberries for their tree, so we wanted to do the same for our tree in Apple Tree Cottage.  Megan and I had never done this, so we were super excited.

Evie was the first to finish her strand for decorations.

Tree-ing to set it up

So once we got the tree home (with a special thanks to Rolland, Justin, and Rolland's truck for menpower, and horsepower) we had to keep the tree in a bucket of water until we had the tree stand.  Melody got home on Monday with a stand, so it was then we moved the tree in place.

Evie was also able to get some free decorations!!!

A cozy fire to give a little atmosphere.

Melody's nativity set looked perfect on this shelf.

Here we go.  It's time to move it into place.

And for the final touch,

I'm leaving on a jet plane...

So, I think that this has been the best flight I've ever been on:

only two carry-on bags
so tired that I was able to actually sleep (I caught myself drooling, which means I was really out)
don't have any dire work to do, so was able to read North and South online
oh yeah, Virgin America has free WIFI for the month of December, thanks to chrome Google.
Pretty quiet, with the occasional child sigh in the background
aisle seat
open middle seat to my left
using a concept map program to sort out my life and thoughts (heavy, but good)
Good things to think about... :)
Will be soon arriving in CA for Christmas
Going to Joshua Tree NP in a day.
warm feet, because I have socks on
Love my jacket
Hair in a comfortable braid so my neck doesn't hurt.

I'm getting even more tired, and am thirsty and hungry, but currently dismissible in the grand scheme of things.

Joe spots something strange by his car...

Oh NO!!! Flat tire!

Roland is always ready and prepared to help.

While the tire was being refilled with air, Evie and I went on an adventure...

Operation "Come on over, we're getting the tree:" Stage 4

So we have our tree.

Thank you, Roland!

Now, guess how old the tree is?
Evie uses her tree skills, with tribute to Chris Zini, to reveal the answer and all you need to know about Christmas Tree farms.

But wait...what's that out in the distance?
