Crash

I finally took a day of long needed rest. And it's not exactly that I spent the day in bed eating bon-bons, which would have been nice, but I let my guard down. Frankly, I was a brat.
First, it was too hot today. I couldn't find a way to cool down. Dinner was served outside which was miserable for me, even though we were in the shade. So I ate one plate and quickly escaped back into the refuge of the cooler-than-outdoors house, which was still a bit on the warm side. I tried to be more social and interactive compare to isolating myself in the living room by suggesting playing games or taking the dogs for walks. Some people were interested, but preoccupied with other activities so that I finally gave up and enjoyed the relatively cool ventilated breeze from my spot on the couch in the living room with my book.
Being by myself and reading was so relaxing. I had been reading most of the day. Which possibly explains why I had a slight headache near my brow. Although I was also considering the headache as a result to my sinuses/allergies especially since my throat is also slightly dry.
It really ticks me off when people tell me that I need to be more social instead of reading by myself. Well, I'm sorry. I asked to interact with people and you didn't respond to what I said in a timely fashion and you didn't make any other suggestions. What am I supposed to do? Wait on you while being extremely uncomfortable and sweating when I'm not even putting out any excessive activity until you're done and ready to interact with me? I also don't like it when people tell me what to do. I understand that things need to be done, cleaned, set up...but don't TELL me what to do like a dictator. I respond much better when asked. Chances are that I will be more than happy to help, but don't direct me. Usually it takes a lot for me to become annoyed and impatient with people, but today the slightest things set me off. =/
I wish I had felt better today to interact more with my family. At the same time, I knew I would snap sometime and it was best that I was able to be by myself to collect myself instead of taking it out on random strangers.

Apples to Apples

This week I have been spending a lot of time out of the house. I've been trying to spend as much time as possible with my cousins Claire and Matt. They're visiting Southern California with my aunt and uncle while staying at Grandy and Grandad's. I've also been hanging out with Jackie, Kari, Kristina, and Monica. And when I wasn't hanging out with other peeps, I've been in pilates class, tutoring, or working on the baby blanket and pillows for Julia's shower.
Ultimately this busy lifestyle leads to one consistent result: a messy room. It is so bad. Clothes are everywhere. Make-up is everywhere. Floor space is no-where. And here I am. I would love to say, "I'll clean for sure tomorrow." But tomorrow is FATHER'S DAY and we are also celebrating Daniel's and Claire's GRADUATION! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Anyway, I don't know how long the room will remain in its current condition, but I am in need of more sports bras for Monday, so laundry must take place extremely soon.
I am leaving for Italy July 5th. I return on July 18th. I leave for Gordon College on August 12. My dad didn't know that I would need to do shopping in New England. He thought that everything that I'll need for living away will be stored in my little suitcase that I'll be taking with me on the plane. Now he has requested that I make a detailed list of everything that I will need to survive in Massachusetts. Another tack for the list.
Blogging makes me extremely tired. Good-night.
