So I'm sitting in my freezing room with a small cup of Dunkin' Donuts coffee (thank you, Evie!) and watching the sun crawl behind the point of the shore across the way. The sky is so beautiful. Living in Magnolia is beautiful. I have been taking for granted that I am living in such a beautiful town. I wish I could capture a picture and share what I am living this moment. We have already begun the search process for another apartment for the summer months, just when Magnolia will be at its best. It won't be the same in a new place. Now I can wake up and hear the ocean waves crash on the shore along with a morning bird singing in the nearby tree outside my window, but I think I'm going to have to trade that in for the sound of passing cars and door locks. This picture doesn't due the area justice, but most everything that truly speaks to me is only understood through experience and impossible to capture forever. I'm learning that it's about "the process."

The Arrival
Wassailing to Ocean Lawn
Megan and I decided to spontaneously (well, practically) take a turn to Ocean Lawn on January 14th. It was frigid, 26 degrees Fahrenheit but felt colder with wind an' all. Not only had we been talking about going to Ocean Lawn in the winter for a while now, but we needed the exercise after been cooped up in the house after all of the snowfall. I wasn't exactly thrilled to go at first, but I grumbled through it with Megan cheering me on, knowing that I would enjoy being there once we reached our final destination.

Shoveling the walkway
As a tribute to mine and Megan's first winter season off campus dealing with the snow without student-workers and their snow plowing abilities, these are some photos of us shoveling the walkway:
